Office Administrator
Bethany Baptist Church

This is a part-time position
a. 23 hour
s /week
b. Work hours
  Mon. – Thurs.  9:00 – 2:30 (with 30 minute lunch break)
     [subtotal of 5 hrs per day x 4 days = 20 hrs]
     Fri.   9:00 – 12:00
c. Pay: The pay for this position is in agreement with the voted-on and approved budget line
     item for this position for 2024, which i
s $19,136 per year. This works out to be $16.00 per hour.
d. Responsibilities
            1. General
            Responsible for the overall operation of the church office
           Accountable to the Senior Pastor as Supervisor (who conducts yearly evaluation)     - works with                 the staff to adjust work responsibilities- serves as an advocate for staff personnel, if conflict                       arises with the supervisor     
           2. Specifics
           Serves as receptionist for church office (incoming calls, in-person visitors)
           Dispatches church-wide communication regarding service changes, prayer requests, etc.
                (Constant Contact; mass emails; phone tree)
           Utilizes ACS (Automated Church System) to its full capacity
           Handles sign-up sheets for special events, meals, etc.
           3. Service
           Serves the church by keeping the overall church calendar (services, events, plans that come
                from Church Council)
           Serves the church by communicating celebrations, health concerns, deaths, etc. at the request
                of church members (constant contact; mass emails; phone tree)
           Relays information to deacons regarding people on their list
           Prepares weekly newsletter “Beacon”; and distributes (postal mail, e-version, dropbox)
           Orders/distributes Life Group literature and other studies
           Prepares calendars which are helpful for the Church Council
           4. Building
           Works (in conjunction with the Properties Team), to organize/plan for/schedule maintenance
                on the building or church property (inspections, cleanings, repairs, insurance, pest control, etc)
           Provides maintenance of and repair of office equipment
           Cares for the office area (ordering supplies, etc)
           5. Finance
           Keying in information that is sent to an outsourcing company
           6. Other
           Prepares bulletins, etc., for funerals/special events as requested
           Copies documents for church leaders, as requested
           Keeps records of church conference minutes and other important events
           Keeps records of membership (granting / requesting letters from other churches)
           Other tasks assigned by the senior pastor

The Personnel Team
 works with the staff to adjust work responsibilities, and serves as an advocate for staff personnel, if conflict arises with supervisor
